Growing up watching her grandmother take the smallest of ingredients and turn them into deliciously soulful meals, sparked a love of cooking for Melanie McGee. Those childhood experiences were the catalyst for the desire to cook for others.
The highest compliment Melanie can receive is watching her guests fellowship as they enjoy her food. Knowing each dish was seasoned to perfection and crafted with love makes cooking worthwhile.
After being an elementary educator for over 20 years, she decided it was time to pursue her passion. In 2021 Melanie started Something to Eat with the goal of providing high quality soul food in the form of soul-food tastings. Her business has evolved to serving crowds of nearly 300 people.
When she is not cooking, Melanie enjoys educating other entrepreneurs about starting businesses and spending time with her son Ethan at their home in Nashville, Tennessee.
